  • The opinion of George Bernard Shaw in Islam and Muhammad (pbuh) ?

This is the opinion of "George Bernard Shaw" the famous and the global thinker and writer .He said :-

“If any religion had the chance of ruling over England, nay Europe within the next hundred years, it could be Islam.”
"I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him – the wonderful man and in my opinion far from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the Savior of Humanity.”
“I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today"

I did reply on the other thread, but it has not been posted yet.

I am not surprised that you have chosen the above quote from George Bernard Shaw..however, if you read the link I gave you in the previous thread you will see it is very unlikely he ever said such a thing. The George Bernard Shaw society have a collection of all his writings and the work.. (I believe it was called the real Islam .. Or something similar) from which this quote is supposedly from, never existed.. Or at least they have never found a reliable source to suggest it was ever his work. The fact of it's very nature and knowing the sort of person he was and how he viewed religion in general makes it highly unlikely to be genuine.

Personally I would not take the word of an atheist to count for much on religious matters, but if you are happy to have that kind of association with Mohammed and Islam then I guess that's ok. His opinion holds no interest for me, yet some of his work I find interesting.

    Peace
