Oracle Delivers Partner Strategies for FY11 Success

During the event, Judson Althoff, Oracle Senior Vice President of Worldwide Alliances and Channels recapped fiscal year 2010 (FY10) program changes and achievements and outlined the OPN Specialized program’s core goals for FY11, including:
Driving revenue through the partner ecosystem;
Improving operational efficiencies; and
Enabling partners to specialize, monetize Oracle acquisitions, and deliver complete solutions to customers.
Oracle Presidents, Charles Phillips and Safra Catz, thanked Oracle’s global partner base for their joint success in FY10 and reiterated the vast opportunity partners have to capitalize on Oracle’s unrivaled product portfolio.
The event covered unique go-to-market opportunities that will be available to Specialized partners in FY11, including how new and existing Sun and Oracle partners can monetize the integration of Sun and other acquired technologies into the Oracle product portfolio by offering customers complete, integrated services and solutions – from application-to-disk.
The event also featured Oracle partner executives from EMEA, LAD, Japan and APAC, who provided information and opportunities specific to partner enablement in those respective regions.

“FY10 was a big year for Oracle partners,” said Judson Althoff, senior vice president, Worldwide Alliances and Channels, Oracle. “With the introduction of a completely new partner program, OPN Specialized, and the integration of Sun, we laid a great foundation and FY11 will be all about executing on our vision and delivering results. We have a great program in place to provide partners at every level with the opportunity to deliver the most comprehensive, differentiated services and solutions available today. With the kickoff event, we are further extending our partners opportunities by providing them with the ammunition they need to provide better value and expertise to our joint customers around the globe.”
“As Oracle grew and acquired more products, the old partner program no longer made sense. OPN Specialized provides an opportunity for a company not just to be an Oracle partner, but an Oracle partner with a Specialization. That means a lot more to customers, to other partners, and to Oracle sales reps,” said Darren Bibby, Program Director, Software Channels Research, IDC. “More and more we are seeing that customers want fully thought out solutions from someone they can really trust to create and implement those solutions. With the Sun acquisition by Oracle, we see a really interesting and unique opportunity for partners of both companies to sell a full stack that will become more and more integrated over time.”
“By offering enablement tools and programs, such as the virtual kickoff, Oracle is demonstrating that they are investing in helping partners, like VX Company,” said Oracle Platinum Partner, Mr. Bert Grevelink, Director of VX Company. “We get all the resources, knowledge and products we need to standout in the marketplace. Being a Specialized partner has allowed us to differentiate ourselves from competitors and offer our customers a complete solution for the best performing Oracle infrastructure based on Oracle’s latest technology.”
