و الأكثر من ذلك أنهم حاولوا تحريف الآية التي يعترف فيها بولس بكذبه و التي تقول : (( إِنَّهُ إِنْ كَانَ صِدْقُ اللهِ قَدِ ازْدَادَ بِكَذِبِي لِمَجْدِهِ، فَلِمَاذَا أُدَانُ أَنَا بَعْدُ كَخَاطِئٍ؟ )) رومية 3:7

فقد أضافت بعض الترجمات الحديثة جملة " ربما يجادل أحدهم بقوله " قبل اعتراف بولس ، كي يبدو بولس على أنه يجيب على أحد يؤمن بالكذب لزيادة مجد الرب ، و هي ترجمتان فقط :

Someone might argue, "If my falsehood enhances God's truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?"R


New Living Translation (©2007)
"But," someone might still argue, "how can God condemn me as a sinner if my dishonesty highlights his truthfulness and brings him more glory?"



هاهي جميع باقي الترجمات التي لا توجد بها مثل هذه الجملة ، و من أبرزها نسخة الملك جيمس التي تعتبر أصح النسخ الموثوقة و ايضا النسخ الجديدية منه في سنتي 2002 و 2003 ، نسخة الترجمة عن الآرامية ، النسخة الأمريكية الجديدة ، النسخة الإنجليزية الجديدة ، و لكننا لا نجد فيها تلك الإضافة :
