400 Teachers Receive Training on OEF’s ThinkQuest to Prepare Colombian Students for 21st Century Careers

    Medellin, Colombia - April 22, 2010
The Oracle Education Foundation (OEF) and Medellin Digital have joined forces to help Colombian students develop skills for work and life in the 21st century.
As part of this partnership, OEF will provide ThinkQuest to schools in Medellin to support the Colombian educational system’s mission to advance technology use in the classroom.
ThinkQuest is a protected online platform that enables teachers to integrate learning projects into their curriculum and students to develop vital skills, including critical thinking, communication and technology skills.
Furthermore, OEF has trained more than 400 teachers in the last six months to use ThinkQuest to create projects, publish online content, and engage students in global collaborative learning.
Medellin Digital is a program of the Secretary of Education. This program, which is focused on increasing digital literacy and access throughout the city, is managed by Medellin’s City Hall with UNE and the Empresas Publicas de Medellin (EPM) Foundation.
ThinkQuest currently supports over 405,000 students and teachers in 43 countries.
