"the symbolism of the nimbus or halo was early in use
among the pagans who determined its form. In the monuments
of Hellenic and Roman art, the heads of the gods,
heroes, and other distinguished persons are often found
with a disc-shaped halo, a circle of light, or a rayed-
fillet. They are, therefore, associated especially with
gods and creatures such as the Phoenix. The disc of light
is likewise used in the Pompeian wall paintings to typify gods
and demigods only. The custom of the Egyptian and
Syrian kings of having themselves represented with a rayed
crown to indicate the status of demigods, spread
throughout the East and the West. In Rome the halo was
first used only for deceased emperors as a sign of

"The nimbus (radiant light) or HALO
around many of the ancient gods and goddesses
    originated in SUN worship."
    --J.C. Cooper's Illustrated Encyclopedia
    of Traditional Symbols, p.112

"NiMBUS, HALO...originally indicative of SOLAR power
and the SUN'S DISK, hence an attribute of SUN-GODS."
    --J.C. Cooper's Illustrated Encyclopedia
    of Traditional Symbols, p.112

"NIMBUS - The sun in the heavens is a cosmic example,
for the floods of sunlight which it pours forth are the
vital aura, NIMBUS, or glory surrounding the solar heart.
The adoption of the nimbus surrounding the heads or
entire bodies of the Christian saints was a clear case
of borrowing from the Orient, because from time immemorial
the nimbus has been used there to signify spiritual
ecstasy, as exemplified in large numbers of Buddhist
    images."

    "Since the most ancient times,
the sun has been a favorite "god"
or god symbol of pagan people all
    around the world. The Babylonians,
    Persians, Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans
all had their sun gods. The native peoples
of North and South America widely practiced
sun worship, as did their Asian ancestors.
Sun worship was also widely practiced by
the people of the Middle East, and even the
Israelites were sometimes corrupted by it:
The Europeans too were deeply involved in
sun worship, and many of their sun-god
festivals were carried over when they
    professed conversion to Christianity.
These can still be seen today in the
    Easter bonfire and sunrise services,
and the Christmas burning of the Yule log."

"The heads of Saints didn't really glow
as is so often portrayed in religious art.
The use of the halo, or nimbus, originated
with the pagan Greeks and Romans to represent
their sun god, Helios. Later artists adopted
it for use in Christian images."

    by Wayne Blank

"The halo is actually just the sun
behind the person's head, as illustrated above.
It's easy to recognize once one realizes what
it is, although it's also often stylized to
make it less obvious. Originally a very
devious way of mixing idolatrous sun worship
with Christianity by converts who were not
all that converted, the pagan halo became an
    unfortunate tradition in Christian art."
    -Sun Worship
    by Wayne Blank

"Halos are pictured as a luminous ring
or a disk of light that surrounds an object.
Webster's Dictionary describes a halo as
the aura of glory, veneration, or sentiment
surrounding an idealized person or thing.
But it was the ancient pagans that originated
this practice of using halos or "sun-disks"
to signify the divinity of the sun god.
Many of the customs and much of the icons
of our worlds religions were adapted from
paganism, and Sun worship is what spawned
the use of these sun disks in pictures and
    graven images."

"The birthday of the sun-god Mithra
was December 25. Instead of opposing this
    idolatry, the Catholic church literally
made up the idea that December 25 was
    Christ's birthday, and celebrated the
pagan holiday with a new name, "Christmas."

    DECEMBER 25th
    The Birth of a "sun-god"

The First man to declare himself a god, was Nimrod.
His mother, Semiramis, declared herself to be "The
Mother of god". Together with their son, Tammuz,
they replaced the worship of Jehovah God, with a
Triune - "trinity" mystery god. Since Tammuz married
his own mother - he was both - "God - the Father" and
    "God - the son".

When the people's language was confused in Babel,
they took with them the religion of Nimrod and spread
    it all over the earth.

Every pagan god, and every pagan goddess has received
some aspect of Nimrod, and Semiramis worship and devotion.
All the pagan sun-gods of the world claim to have been
born on Decmeber 25th. How appropriate that they even
copied the birthdate of the First man to oppose Jehovah
    God.

Paganism is filled with symbolism. If you do a careful
search on Sun Worship - you will learn what these symbols
    and teachings are.

When you honor and adore the "Baby Jesus" on December 25th,
you have been duped into giving the pagan sun-gods of the
world - honor, attention, and worship - without even
knowing it. This has been going on for years. But now
that we live in an age where data is everywhere at our
fingertips - these Deceptions are being unearthed and
exposed for what they truly are - a trick of the Devil,
to take worship away from Jehovah God and direct it at
    his own seed.

Pagan sun-gods are born on December 25th
A Compromise and Deception of Christendom

"December 25....a festival was celebrated among the
heathen, at that precise time of the year, in honour of
the birth of the son of the Babylonian queen of heaven
...the sun-god Nimrod...the same festival was adopted
by the Roman Church, giving it the name of Christ."
    --The Two Babylons
    Alexander Hislop

"December 25th - Instead of this day being the time
of our Saviour's birth, it was the very day and season
on which the pagans for centuries had celebrated the
birth of the Sun-god. A study into this shows how far
apostate church leaders went in their effort to merge
Christianity and paganism into one apostate religion -
even to placing the birth of Christ on a date to harmonize
with the pagan birthday celebration of the sun-god.
It was in the FIFTH Century that the Roman Catholic
Church commanded that the birth of Christ be observed
forever on December 25 - the day of the old Roman feast
of the birth of Sol (one of the names of the sun-god).

    CHRISTMAS -
    And "sun-god" WORSHIP

    What is The "LINK" ?

    on the 25th of December."
    --THE MYSTERIES OF MITHRA
    by Franz Cumont [1903]

    CHRISTMAS -
    And "sun-god" WORSHIP

    What is The "LINK" ?

The "First" Link - is The DATE

"Pagans celebrated the birth of the Sun
    on the 25th of December."
    --THE MYSTERIES OF MITHRA
    by Franz Cumont [1903]
Actually there are many Links between Christmas and
sun-god worship. The most obvious Link is the Date
itself. We know that the Bible says that Jesus was
born during a warm month, when the sheep and their
shepherds were still spending the nights outdoors.

We also know - that could not have been in December,
because that time of year was too cold and rainy.
History reports that back then, and even now, the sheep
in the area of Bethlemen and Jerusalem, are kept indoors
at night, after the month of October.

So what would cause the Apostate Church of Christendom
to insist on "Honoring" Christ in the Wintertime ?
There Lies the Link to sun-god worship.

All the sun-gods from the time of Ancient Babylon, to
the present - have birthdays on December 25. That is
their holy day for Celebration. How could they all be
born on December 25th - you might ask? The answer is
simple. Nimrod of Ancient Babylon - was the first human,
to claim that he was a god. His mother, Semiramis,
claimed therefore - to be - The Mother of God.
Nimrod was born on December 25th, and since all other
sun-gods were fashioned after him - the answer is obvious.

"Semiramis and Horus/Tammuz were worshipped as
"Madonna and child." And as the generations passed,
they were worshipped under other names in different
countries and languages. Many of these are recognizable:
Fortuna and Jupiter in Rome; Aphrodite and Adonis in
Greece and Ashtoreth/Astarte and Molech/Baal in Canaan."
    --Syncretismas!
    by Martin G. Collins
    Forerunner, December 1995

"In his deified form, Nimrod the Sun god is known as Baal.
Mythology reveals the fact that the god Baal, and the
goddess, the queen of heaven, were universally worshiped
under various names and titles. History confirms, that
Nimrod, and his wife, Semiramis, were the prototypes for
all gods and goddesses that permeated all subsequent
    cultures and societies."
    --World Religions
    by David Terrell
    Nimrod - Semiramis - Tammuz
    And December 25th

"When Nimrod was a young boy, his mother, Semiramis,
desired him, and in fact, ended up marrying him.
When Nimrod died, and was made the sun god,
Semiramis then had an illegitimate son called Tammuz,
who she claimed to be the son of Nimrod. Semiramis also
declared that her son, Tammuz, was in actuality the
return or rebirth of her husband, Nimrod."
    --World Religions
    by David Terrell
    Queen of Heaven -
Mother and Child Worship - From Babylon

"Tammuz became symbolized by the golden calf.
Semiramis became known as the "queen of heaven,"
and was the prototype from which all other pagan
    goddesses came."
    --World Religions
    by David Terrell

"Nimrod's religion is identified in scripture with Satan -
by reading Isaiah Chapter 14 and in Revelation Chapters 17-18.
By history we can prove that Babylonian religion invaded
the whole world and is the basis for every system of idolatry,
and is the theme of mythology, though the names of the gods
are different because of the various languages in the world.
The world's major religions can be traced back to ancient Babylon.
Satan is known as the father of lies which deceiveth the whole world
(Genesis 3:1, John 8:44, Revelation 12:9), and Nimrod was the
human "father" of all false religion."
    --World Religions
    by David Terrell

"Satan tried to compete for the loyalty of the world
by setting up a very ancient center of sun worship
called Babylon. It was Satan's attempt to defy God
and His authority. The ring leader in this scheme was
one named Nimrod. He was the man who had something to
do with the beginning of pagan sun worship."
--Paganism in the Church - Part 2
    Joe Crews

"The logical person to replace the Great Mother of
paganism was Mary, the mother of Jesus. It mattered not
to pagan Rome whether they worshiped the goddess mother
and her child under the Egyptian names of Isis and Horus,
or the Babylonian names of Semiramis and Tammuz, or the
Roman names of Venus and Jupiter, or under the names of
the "Virgin Mary" and the "Christ- child.". Either way,
it was the same old idol-religion."
    --Baal-mas

"Nimrod, one of the great-grandsons of Noah,
is accredited with being the originator of sun worship."
--Paganism in the Church - Part 2
    Joe Crews

How did Christendom Swallow and Accept
The Lies of Ancient Babylon ?

"The 'Christianization' of Pagan Customs, Symbols, and
Terminology — Christianity had to undergo a transformation
so that pagan Rome could "convert" without giving up its
old beliefs and rituals. The actual effect was to paganize
official Christianity. A compound religion had been
manufactured, of which ... Christianity furnished the
nomenclature, and Paganism furnished the doctrines and
the rights. The idolatry of the Roman world had by no
means been demolished. Instead of this, its pagan
nakedness had been covered with the garb of a deformed
    Christianity."
    --Vine, W.E, Gospel Tract Publications.
The Collected Writings of W.E. Vine, Volume 5.
    Glasgow, Scotland, 1986, pp.436-439.

"The so-called Christmas customs and traditions were
later concocted more for commercial purposes than for
religious. Merchants sell more of almost every kind of
product during the Christmas season than at any other
    time of year."
    --Baal-mas
    Where did Christmas Come from?
    Tom Adams

    Christmas is A "Lie"

"No "Christian" holiday is as misleading as Christmas—
unless it is Easter. What do evergreen trees, Yule logs,
holly wreaths, mistletoe, and Santa Claus have to do with
our relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?
Does the nativity scene with its mother-and-child motif
teach us anything about the relationship between God the
    Father and His Son?"
    --Syncretismas!
    by Martin G. Collins
    Forerunner, December 1995

"Does Christmas teach us the truth?
With so many falsehoods and deceptions surrounding
and embedded in this holiday, we would be foolish to
believe that God would approve of its celebration.
Truth is very important to God. It is one of the names
of His son - Jesus Christ (John 14:6) and one of his
ministry's themes: "And you shall know the truth,
and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32; 18:37).
Conversely, lies bind us in spiritual slavery."
    --Syncretismas!
    by Martin G. Collins
    Forerunner, December 1995

"Let's reflect for a moment on the origins and history
of Christmas, which flourishes today in the materialistic
Western world. From its non-Christian background, we can
see that it is a syncretistic blend of pagan rites and
Christian themes that is abhorrent to God (Deuteronomy
12:29-32; see Exodus 32). Christmas is a quagmire of
    deceptive traditions."

    Now Add a Tree
    And a Little Greenery

"After Nimrod's death (c. 2167 BC), Semiramis promoted
the belief that he was a god. She claimed that she saw
a full-grown evergreen tree spring out of the roots of
a dead tree stump (the Yule Log) , symbolizing the springing forth of
new life for Nimrod. On the anniversary of his birth (Dec 25),
she said, Nimrod would visit the evergreen tree and leave gifts
under it. His birthday fell on the winter solstice at the end of December."

    Now Add a "Trinity"

"A few years later, Semiramis bore a son, named
Tammuz, Horus or Gilgamesh. She declared that she had
been visited by the spirit of Nimrod, who left her
pregnant with the boy. Horus/Tammuz, who she maintained,
was Nimrod reincarnated. With a father, mother and son
deified, a deceptive, perverted Trinity was formed."

Jesus Was Born in a "WARM" Month

"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby,
keeping watch over their flocks at night."
    (Luke 2:8)(NIV)-BibleGateway

The Biblical account says that the Shepherds and their
sheep were still sleeping outdoors at the time of
Christ's birth. Winter-time would have been too Cold.

"...the last week of December corresponds to the tenth
month of the Jewish sacred calendar known as Tebeth,
when there are frequent frosts and occasional snow
    florishes in Jerusalem..."
    - The Geography of the Bible; by Denis Baly

Jesus' public ministry lasted for three and a half years
(Dan. 9:27). It came to an end at the time of Passover
(John 18:39). which was in the spring. Therefore, he
began his ministry in the fall. Jesus began his ministry
at about the age of 30 (Luke 3:23). This was the
recognized age for a priest before he could become an
official minister under the Old Testament (Num. 4:3).
Therefore his birth must have been in the fall.

“In Palestine, winter winds are very penetrating
from the middle of December to the middle of February.
Snow and hail, during most winters, fall on the hills.
The Hebrew month Tebeth (December and January) is the
coldest month; rain, hail and snow on higher hills,
    and occasionally at Jerusalem."
    --(Ungers Bible Dictionary, p. 1170)

"It was an ancient custom among the Jews of those days
to send their sheep to the fields and deserts about
Passover (early spring)and bring them home at
    commencement of the first rain...
During the time they were out, the shepherds watched them
night and day, as... the first rains began early
in the month of Marchesvan, which answers to part of our
October... we find that the sheep were kept out
in the open country during the whole summer,
and as these shepherds had not yet brought home their flocks,
it is a presumptive argument that October had not yet
commenced(begun), and consequently, our Lord was not born
on the 25th of December, when no flocks were out in the
fields by night. On this very ground, the nativity in December
    should be given up."
    - Adam Clark Commentary, Volume 5, page 347

"It is evident that Jesus was not born
during the middle of winter, for at the time of his birth,
the shepherds were living out in the fields with their
flocks. As the bible says: 'There were in the same country
shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their
flock by night" (Luke 2:8). As is well known, the shepherds
in Palestine do not "abide in the fields" during
the winter season because of the extreme, cold
temperatures. The shepherds always bring their flocks
in from the mountain slopes and fields no later than
    October 15th! "
    - Mede's Works, 1679. Discourse xlvii

"These humble pastoral folk are out in the field at night
with their flock - a feature of the story which would
argue against the birth of Christ occurring on Dec. 25
since the weather would not have permitted it"
    - (The Interpreter's One-Volume Commentary,
Abingdon Press, Nashville, 1971, note on Luke 2:4-7).

"Shepherds and their flocks would not be found
"abiding" (Gr. agrauleo) in the open fields at night
in December (Tebeth), for the paramount reason
that there would be no pasturage at that time.
It was the custom then (as now) to withdraw the flocks
during the month Marchesven Oct.-Nov.) from the open districts
and house them for the winter."
    - The Companion Bible, Appendix 179

    God's Viewpoint
    of Compromise with pagan gods

"Put away the strange gods that are among you,
    and be clean" (Gen. 35:2).

    "Inquire not after their gods,
saying, How do these nations serve their gods?
...You shall not do so unto Jehovah your God"
    (Deut. 12:30-31).

"Learn not the way of the heathen"
    (Jer. 10:2).

"And take heed, lest you lift your eyes to heaven,
and when you see the SUN, and the moon, and the stars,
even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to
    WORSHIP them, and serve them..."
    (Deut. 4:19).
