Communications, Media Companies and Other Service Providers Select Oracle

GETCO Telecommunication Limited, Melbourne IT Limited and SK Telecom were among the communications and media companies and other service providers that selected or extended their use of Oracle applications and hardware in the third quarter of Oracle’s fiscal year – December 2009 through February 2010. These companies rely on Oracle to help them deliver superior customer experiences, increase revenue from next-generation convergent services, and reduce costs in the business and the network.
GETCO Telecommunication Limited, a pioneer in the Bangladesh communications industry, has extended its use of Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management to support its growing interconnection exchange (ICX) business. GETCO will further streamline its ICX billing operations to ensure it promptly invoices its operator partners, as well as submits timely monthly interconnect reports to Bangladesh regulatory authorities.
Melbourne IT Limited, a global provider of online services such as domain names, Web hosting, digital brand protection and IT management, selected Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management, Oracle’s Siebel CRM, Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition, Oracle Service-Oriented Architecture and Oracle Database 11g for its systems overhaul that will provide the organization with a single view of the customer and improved revenue realization.
SK Telecom, Korea’s largest mobile communications service provider, improved its billing accuracy and customer satisfaction with the Oracle Exadata Database Machine, experiencing a greater-than 10x query processing performance improvement in the company's 20-terabyte data warehouse. SK Telecom’s new data warehouse integrates data from more than 210 sources and is capable of performing intense analysis, providing SK Telecom with a single view of its customer response rates, usage trends and patterns.
Additional communications service providers, media companies and other service providers that selected or extended their use of Oracle Communications applications and platform software include: Atheeb (Saudi Arabia), Cable & Wireless (Jamaica), Cable & Wireless (United Kingdom), CenterTelecom (Russia), Codetel (Dominican Republic), Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (Costa Rica), KPN (The Netherlands), Mobily (Saudi Arabia), Polkomtel (Poland), RTI International (United States) and Vodafone Qatar (Qatar).
