Redwood Shores, Calif. – June 1, 2010

News Facts

Today, Oracle announced a world record result on the SAP® Business Intelligence-Data Mart (BI-D) standard application benchmark(1). This result surpasses the best IBM DB2 result on this benchmark with more than eight times the performance(2).
The system was comprised of a two-node Fujitsu PRIMERGY RX600 S5 server, equipped with Intel® Xeon® X7560 2.26 GHz processors. Oracle® Database 11g on Linux delivered a world-record result of more than 1.6 million query navigation steps per hour on the SAP BI-D standard application benchmark.
When measured from a one-node to a two-node configuration, as documented and certified by SAP AG, Oracle Database with Oracle Real Application Clusters showed 90 percent scalability by achieving 854,649(3) and 1,624,629 query navigation steps per hour, respectively, while delivering outstanding performance and high availability.
Additionally, the one-node and two-node results delivered more than four times the throughput per processor and a higher performance per core, respectively, than the highest IBM DB2 results on the SAP BI-D standard application benchmark.
