The Darby Translation
Isa 9:6 -
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name is called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.


The Message
9:6 For a child has been born - for us! the gift of a son - for us! He'll take over the running of the world. His names will be: Amazing Counselor, Strong God, Eternal Father, Prince of Wholeness

He shoulders responsibility
and is called:17
Extraordinary Strategist,18
Mighty God,19
Everlasting Father,20
Prince of Peace.21
9:7 His dominion will be vast22
and he will bring immeasurable prosperity.23
He will rule on David’s throne
and over David’s kingdom,24
establishing it25 and strengthening it26
by promoting justice and fairness,27
from this time forward and forevermore.
The Lord’s intense devotion to his people28 will accomplish this.
