Isaac was he the only son???

Yes, especially after he sent Ishmael away. Ishmael was reject by God and Abraham as the child of promise; nevertheless, Abraham loved him and for his sake, God made him a great nation, but no prophets come out of Ishmael according to the Scriptures.

If I believed that it was Ishmael instead of Isaac that Abraham was going to sacrifice that would be a strong argument in favor of Islam; however, the fact that Islam doesn't believe God sacrificed His only son (Jesus) like Abraham was about to do gives Islam away. Had Muhammad agreed about Jesus death and denied the virgin birth, he would have had a greater Christian following, but as it stands, there are too many holes to carry water. That is not the case with the Scriptures that came before
