What you call traps are IMO opportunities to escape deception. God doesn't allow us to be tested above what we are able to bear. He will make a way of escape so that be can bear it. God said honor your parents; if an unmarried teen wants to join Islam and the parents are against it, it is for their protection by God. The Bible states there is a way that seems right to a man but that way leads to death. Do not lean to your own understanding, but in all your ways, acknowledge the Lord, and He will direct your path.
The more I learn about Islam the more convince I am that Jesus is the only way, truth and life. It is possible that those who leave Islam do it because they are learning deeper things about the religion. Even Abu doubted the god of Islam. He said he would trust the makr of Allah if he had one foot in paradise and one on earth. He was Muhammad right hand man. If he doubted, what makes new Muslim think they have a chance? Jesus said, "Come to me all of your that are heavy burdened and I will give you rest" I say to new Muslims, if you doubt come to Jesus and follow what he says.
I trust Jesus. trusting Him is trusting God, obeying Him is obeying God your Creator. Jesus said "You will die in your sin unless you believe I am He... No man comes to God except through Me" Perhaps Abu Bakr knew this deep down and that's is what cause him not to trust Allah. Perhaps those who experience doubt are like he was. Perhaps he saw some truth and ignored it while does who leave Islam didn't ignore the signs. to know the Lord God we must know Jesus: Jermiah sums it up

They bend their tongue like a bow;
falsehood and not truth has grown strong in the land;
for they proceed from evil to evil,
and they do not know me, declares the Lord.
4
Let everyone beware of his neighbor,
and put no trust in any brother,
for every brother is a deceiver,
and every neighbor goes about as a slanderer.
5
Everyone deceives his neighbor,
and no one speaks the truth;
they have taught their tongue to speak lies;
they weary themselves committing iniquity.
6
Heaping oppression upon oppression, and deceit upon deceit,
they refuse to know me, declares the Lord

Know Jesus; know life
No Jesus; No life
