Ever Prophet has a different circumstances and conditions. One of them Allah gave him alot of sons and wealth then deprives him from all what he once had, can we say why this prophet not another? No, of course. The same thing, we can not say why did Allah speak to Moses but not John or Abraham. This is our believe and we return to our Holy Quran for this, and remember we believe in all of the Prophets, respect, defend and highly evaluate them (peace be upon them).

Those messengers - some of them We caused to exceed others. Among them were those to whom Allah spoke, and He raised some of them in degree. And We gave Jesus, the Son of Mary, clear proofs, and We supported him with the Pure Spirit. If Allah had willed, those [generations] succeeding them would not have fought each other after the clear proofs had come to them. But they differed, and some of them believed and some of them disbelieved. And if Allah had willed, they would not have fought each other, but Allah does what He intends. (253) Al baqara

another name for (Isa) is "ebn Maryam" Maryam's sone, the same name of this significantly respectful website. All this (mentioning Mary and Isa) can be explained in many ways and all are true. because the Christians say that Isa is God's son, Allah Almight confirms that he is born by a miracle (without father), and to confirm for the Jews that Mary is pure, Virgin and chaste.

If Mary's honour is due to her son, does this mean her son Jesus, is special above other prophets or different?
