Rahab the Harlot of Jericho

In the name of allah our creator , god of Abraham , Moses , Jacob , Jesus and all prophets







Rahab means ‘open wide’. This may imply she was a prostitute, but also that she had many children. This would explain why she risked everything to save her family.







Rahab left a red cord at her window as a signal to the Israelite soldiers

Rahab has special significance for Christians: she is among the four women listed in Matthew’s gospel as ancestors of Jesus of Nazareth. The others are Ruth, Tamar and Bathsheba.
