    God (Allaah)
    1:1 In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
    Interpretation:
    (This is the name for the true existent — the One who unites the attributes of divinity, is the subject of the attributes of lordship, and unique in true existence. Because no existent thing other than He may claim to exist in and of itself, but rather it gains existence from Him — it is perishing insofar as it exists in and of itself, and exists insofar as it faces Him. This name is the greatest of all the names for God because it refers to the essence, which unites all the attributes of divinity. It is conceivable that believers appropriate something of the meanings of the rest of the names to the point that the name be used of them — as in the “Merciful”, “The Knowing” and the rest. The meaning of this name, God is so specific that it is inconceivable that it be shared, either metaphorically or literally.)
    Practical Application:
    (Believers should apply this taking up their hearts and aspirations with God. They should not look toward anything other than Him nor pay attention to matters that do not carry them closer to God. Essentially believers should apply this to life by believing unconditionally in God and turning only to Him, starting all of the good deeds with the name of God, for God will bless the believer and the believer’s deeds.)
    Most Merciful (Ar-Rahmaan)
    67:29 Say: "He is (God) Most Gracious: We have believed in Him, and on Him have we put our trust: So, soon will ye know which (of us) it is that is in manifest error."
    Interpretation:
    (This name is very close to the name Ar-Raheem, which means The Merciful. However, Ar-Rahmaan is more specific in that no one except God is named by it, whereas Ar-Raheem may used to describe others. The Infinitely Merciful is He who loves men, first by creating them, second by guiding them to faith and to the means of salvation; third by making them happy in the next world; fourth by granting them the contemplation of Him; and fifth by having mercy on all of creation.)
    Practical Application:
    (The believer should apply this attribute by showing mercy to the negligent, dissuading them from the path of negligence and toward God. Believers should guide others toward God through counseling, regarding the disobedient with eyes of mercy and not contempt, and approaching every insubordination perpetrated in the world as their own misfortune. In essence, believers should guide the disobedient so they will not be exposed to God’s wrath. Also, believers should care about their relatives, for the root of the word “rahm” which means “relative” is derived from the word “Rahmaan”, and God will treat each of us as we treat our relatives.)
    The Eminent, The Exalted in Might (Al-‘Azeez)
    39:5 He created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): He makes the Night overlap the Day, and the Day overlap the Night: He has subjected the sun and the moon (to His law): Each one follows a course for a time appointed. Is not He the Exalted in Power - He Who forgives again and again?
    Interpretation:
    (Linguistically, this name encompasses three aspects: there are very few who compare to God’s significance; there is an intense need for Him, though access to Him proves difficult, and He is the defeater. God is the only one who is described by the three criteria together.)
    Practical Application:
    (Eminent believers are those to whom others turn in important matters, such as the afterlife and eternal happiness. Believers should not glorify anyone or anything other than God, by their speech, actions or in their hearts.)
    The Especially Merciful (Ar-Raheem)
    9:104 Know they not that God doth accept repentance from His votaries and receives their gifts of charity, and that God is verily He, the Oft-Returning, Most Merciful?
    Interpretation:
    (Both Ar-Raheem — The Especially Merciful and Ar-Rahmaan, which means the Most Merciful, are derived from “mercy” and, as stated in Ar-Rahmaan, they differ in that Ar-Rahmaan may only be used to refer to God while others may use Ar-Raheem. Ar-Raheem is God’s mercy on believers while Ar-Rahmaan is mercy for all of the creation. In this name and all other names, believers should remember that God has many names; therefore, just as He is merciful, He also has the strongest punishment. Therefore, believers should work to reach His mercy. God’s mercy is different than a human’s mercy. Humans have mercy on one another because they need each other. They have to give in order to apply their mercy, which will decrease their holdings. In contrast, God has mercy on us even though He does not need us, and whatever He gives will not decrease His assets. Also, believers must know that the reason for poverty and sickness in the world is to show both sides of God’s names and attributes.)
    Practical Application:
    (By helping to eliminate poverty by meeting the needs of those in need, to the extent of their ability, believers demonstrate mercy. Other ways it can be displayed include caring for elders and minors; protecting the environment by all means possible; and also giving knowledge to those who are ignorant or misguided. This can be accomplished by means of wealth or reputation or by interceding on behalf of another. And, if this is impossible, believers should assist the people by prayer or by showing grief on account of their needs in sympathy and love towards them, as though they were sharing in their misfortune. Nevertheless, the believer should always return to God, the Most Merciful, when they commit sins knowing He is there, loving for them to return to Him.)
    The Flawless, The Source Of Peace And Perfection (As-Salaam)
    59:23 God is He, than Whom there is no other god;- the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Source of Peace (and Perfection), the Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the Supreme: Glory to God! (High is He) above the partners they attribute to Him.
    Interpretation:
    (His essence is free from imperfections, His attributes are perfect, and He commits no evil. Everything that exists that is flawless is attributed to Him and originates from Him. He causes no harm to anything and He gives peace to His creation.)
    Practical Application:
    (To apply this attribute to life, believers’ hearts should be free from deceit, hatred, envy, and evil intent. They should be untainted by sins and forbidden actions. The believer should call for this name to be upon them. The believers who apply these values to their lives will go to God with a flawless heart.)
    The Guardian and Bestower Of Faith (Al-Mu’min)
    59:23 God is He, than Whom there is no other god;- the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Source of Peace (and Perfection), the Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the Supreme: Glory to God! (High is He) above the partners they attribute to Him.
    Interpretation:
    (Ascribed to God are safety and security and only He conveys the means to attain them. The absolutely faithful one is God, because it is from His direction that safety and security are conceivable. He is the one in whom we can place all of our trust.)
    Practical Application:
    (Believers can apply faithfulness in their lives by keeping God’s creatures away from harm and protecting others from the punishment of God by showing them to the way of God.)
    The Holy, The Pure (Al-Quddoos)
    59:23 God is He, than Whom there is no other god;- the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Source of Peace (and Perfection), the Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the Supreme: Glory to God! (High is He) above the partners they attribute to Him.
    Interpretation:
    (He is free from every attribute that a sense might perceive, free from what an imagination may conceive, or from that which may move the conscience, or from that which thinking demands. The Holy is the one who transcends every one of the attributes of perfection. This name has the meaning of purification.)
    Practical Application:
    (The holiness of believers lies in freeing their knowledge and their will. Essentially, believers should be free from all tangible and imagined things. Believers should come away from this name by understanding that sensory and imaginary perceptions are shared with animals and believers should rise above them. Animals also strive with man in human sensuous pleasures, so believers should free themselves from these kinds of pleasures. The aspirants are as exalted as the object to which they aspire, but those who are intent on nothing except God, find the level proportionate with their intent. Believers should elevate their minds above the level of the imagined and free their will from the dictates of passion, purifying their hearts from relying on any materialistic matter.)
    The King, The True Sovereign (Al-Malik)
    62:1 Whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare the Praises and Glory of God,- the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
    Interpretation:
    (In His essence and attributes, He has no need of any existing thing, while every existing thing needs Him. There is nothing that can dispense with Him concerning anything; He applies His rules on His kingdom.)
    Practical Application:
    (No human can be conceived as being an absolute king because we do not have the power to dispense with everything. Humans will always be needy in regard to God. We would even be needy even if we were able to dispense with all but Him. Kingship is a gift from the True Sovereign — God. A king among people is ruled by no one but God. Kingship lies in being free and able to dispense with everything except God and so believers should detach their needs and passions from this world. God is the only one can give or take away anything. Therefore, believers should refer to Him and ask only Him for their needs. Believers should not let their desire or anger lead them.)
    The Overseer (Al-Muhaymin)
    59:23 God is He, than Whom there is no other god;- the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Source of Peace (and Perfection), the Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the Supreme: Glory to God! (High is He) above the partners they attribute to Him.
    Interpretation:
    (God is the one who tends to all of His creations in terms of their actions, sustenance, and death. He tends to every aspect of their lives. He nurtures and cares for them by His knowledge, His possession, and His protection.)
    Practical Application:
    (Believers can be guardians by watching over the inner-realities of their hearts. They should take responsibility of reforming their inner-selves. And, they should protect their hearts continuously in an attempt to better themselves, then become true guardians of their hearts. In addition, if they watch over others to keep them on the right path, their shares in this meaning will be even more abundant.)
    58. The One Who Has Knowledge of Each Separate Item (Al-Muhsee)
    58:6 On the Day that God will raise them all up (again) and show them the Truth (and meaning) of their conduct. God has reckoned its (value), though they may have forgotten it, for God is Witness to all things.
    Interpretation:
    (It is in His absolute knowledge that the limits of each object as well as its quantity are revealed. )
    Practical Application:
    (Humans are unable to reckon or account for some objects, because of the limits of their knowledge, because only God knows everything. Believers cannot apply this name to others, but should apply it to themselves, by counting their deeds. )
    He Who Humbles (Al-Mudhill)
    3:26 Say: "O God! Lord of Power (And Rule), Thou givest power to whom Thou pleasest, and Thou strippest off power from whom Thou pleasest: Thou enduest with honour whom Thou pleasest, and Thou bringest low whom Thou pleasest: In Thy hand is all good. Verily, over all things Thou hast power.
    Interpretation:
    (God humbles those who are overtaken by worldly pleasures and desires and are thereby distant from God.)
    Practical Application:
    (Believers should apply this attribute by acting humbly, by not being overtaken by greed, forbidden passions, and other sinful activities.)
    The Achiever of Good (Al-Barr)
    52:28 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!"
    Interpretation:
    (Al-Barr — The Achiever of Good. It is from Him that every good deed originates, the absolute Achiever of Good in both religious and materialistic matters is only God. This name emphasizes God’s endless and uncountable blessing on everything and everyone. )
    Practical Application:
    (Believers can be achievers of good if they keep themselves occupied with doing good, especially toward their parents, teachers, and elders. )
    The Acquainted (Al-Khabeer)
    49:13 O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of God is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And God has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).
    Interpretation:
    (From God, nothing is hidden because nothing goes on in His realm without His awareness. No atom moves, no soul is stirred or calmed without His awareness. He is the one who directs every element of His creation because He knows best.)

    Practical Application:
    (Believers should be aware of what happens in the world. Their world consists their hearts, bodies, and hidden things in their hearts such as deception, treachery, preoccupation with earthly things, and evil intentions. Believers should do their best to distinguish between good and evil through clarification.)
    The All-Forgiving (Al-Ghafoor)
    60:7 It may be that God will grant love (and friendship) between you and those whom ye (now) hold as enemies. For God has power (over all things); And God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
    Interpretation:
    (He repeatedly forgives and is All-Forgiving in the sense that He is the perfection of forgiveness and forgiving. This name is related to forgiveness in the hereafter more than in this life. )
    Practical Application:
    (Believers should recognize that God loves and forgives all His creations that are true at heart, because being true at heart makes believers forgive others while receiving God’s forgiveness.)
    The All-Glorious (Al-Majeed)
    11:73 They said: "Dost thou wonder at God's decree? The grace of God and His blessings on you, o ye people of the house! for He is indeed worthy of all praise, full of all glory!"
    Interpretation:
    (He is noble in essence, beautiful in actions, and bountiful in gifts. The All-Glorious combines the meanings of “the Majestic,” “the Bestower,” and “the Generous.”)
    Practical Application:
    (Only God is truly glorious, but the religious fruit taken from this name, refers to believers who strive to be noble in actions and thoughts, and direct these towards achieving closer relations to God.)
    The All-Hearing (As-Samee‘)
    49:1 O Ye who believe! Put not yourselves forward before God and His Apostle; but fear God: for God is He Who hears and knows all things.

    Interpretation:
    (God is able to perceive everything audible, even if it is hidden. He is able to hear the secrets of the human heart and even that which is more concealed than this. The true meaning and power behind this name is that when God hears, He answers those who call on Him. Others, even if they have some kind of hearing, they cannot answer such calls. God answers all of the millions of different elements of His creation, with different languages and the multitude of forms of communication, all simultaneously and continuously. )

    Practical Application:
    (The believers stand to gain two-fold benefits from this attribute. First, they should realize that God hears everything and therefore, they should watch their tongues. Second, they should know that He only created hearing in order for humans to hear the words of God and His book, which He revealed so that they may live in a beneficial way. In addition, believers should answer calls from God’s creations whenever possible.)

    The All-Observant (Ar-Raqeeb)
    4:1 O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single person, created, of like nature, His mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women;- reverence God, through whom ye demand your mutual (rights), and (reverence) the wombs (That bore you): for God ever watches over you.

    Interpretation:
    (He knows, protects, and cares for something to the extent of never forgetting it, observing it constantly and persistently. )

    Practical Application:
    (The trait of being observant is attributed to believers whose watchfulness is directed to God and their hearts. That will come about when they learn that God observes them and sees their every move, as well as knowing that their own souls are enemies to them, as is Satan. And, both the soul and Satan tempt believers, to forget and disobey.)

    The All-Powerful (Al-Qaadir)
    46:33 See they not that God, Who created the heavens and the earth, and never wearied with their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yea, verily He has power over all things.

    Interpretation:
    (Al-Qaadir — The All-Powerful. Power is equal to the intention by which a thing comes into existence, according to a determined plan of will and knowledge. The All-Powerful is the One who does what He wills. Moreover, His will and actions are not conditioned to necessity. The Absolutely Powerful is He who creates each existent individually, without the need of assistance from anything or anyone. )

    Practical Application:
    (Humans possess power in a limited sense and therefore are lacking, because they only attain some possibilities. )

    The All-Praiseworthy (Al-Hameed)
    42:28 He is the One that sends down rain (even) after (men) have given up all hope, and scatters His Mercy (far and wide). And He is the Protector, Worthy of all Praise.

    Interpretation:
    (To be praised is to be held high. God is The Praised by virtue of His praise for Himself from eternity and by virtue of His servant’s praise for Him forever. On the other hand, He praises His servants in front of other creations.)

    Practical Application:
    (The praised among humans have belief, character, and actions, which are praised without any contender; that is Muhammad (may God’s blessings and peace be upon him), as well as whoever comes close to him among the prophets. The only one praised absolutely is God.)

    The All-Preserver, The Safeguard (Al-Hafeeth)
    11:57 "If ye turn away,- I (at least) have conveyed the Message with which I was sent to you. My Lord will make another people to succeed you, and you will not harm Him in the least. For my Lord hath care and watch over all things."

    Interpretation:
    (Understanding the meaning of the All-Preserver, requires understanding of the meaning of ‘preservation.’ Perpetuating and sustaining the existence of things achieve preservation. In addition, preservation consists of safeguarding from each other those things that are at odds with each other, such as fire and water. God is able to reconcile these opposing elements in all of His creations. He is able to reconcile opposing elements within the skin of humans, animals, plants and all composite things. If He were not to preserve them, they would clash and separate so that their mutual coherence would cease. Another meaning included in The All-Preserver is to maintain everything about His creation, and not to forget them.)

    Practical Application:
    (Believers should apply this by preserving their physical and spiritual bodies — limbs, hearts and faith — from assault of anger, desire, and self-deception. They should safeguard the faith of other believers and keep their secrets. Also, they should maintain friendships by all means; when they are wealthy away from evil deeds, and when they are poor by offering assistance.)

    قال الله تعالى ( مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَى نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلًا ﴿23﴾ لِيَجْزِيَ اللَّهُ الصَّادِقِينَ بِصِدْقِهِمْ وَيُعَذِّبَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ إِن شَاء أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا ﴿24﴾ الأحزاب

    إن الدخول في الإسلام صفقة بين متبايعين.. .الله سبحانه هو المشتري والمؤمن فيها هو البائع ، فهي بيعة مع الله ، لا يبقى بعدها للمؤمن شيء في نفسه ، ولا في ماله.. لتكون كلمة الله هي العليا ، وليكون الدين كله لله.
