Oracle Press Release
Rosemount Inc., an Emerson Company, Leverages Oracle’s Real-Time Sales and Operations Planning Solution to Improve Global Supply Chain Performance

Rosemount Proactively Manages Demand and Increases Sales with Oracle

Redwood Shores, Calif. – November 2, 2009
News Facts

To establish a standard global sales and operations planning (S&OP) process that could support its growing business, Emerson Rosemount Inc., the world leader in the design and manufacture of instrumentation, including a complete line of pressure, temperature, flow and level products, implemented Oracle’s Real-Time Sales and Operations Planning solution, powered by Oracle’s Demantra.
As part of Emerson’s Process Management Group, a diversified global manufacturing and technology company, Rosemount needed enhanced insight into its expanding global supply chain to facilitate collaborative processes that would allow it to proactively manage demand across a configure-to-order product line with more than 161 billion product feature/option combinations.
With Oracle’s Demantra Real-Time Sales and Operation Planning, Rosemount was able to implement a global S&OP process that standardized and centralized planning and buying functions, enabling timely planning decisions that align the best combination of products, customers and markets to serve.
By consolidating multiple legacy systems, Demantra Real-Time Sales and Operation Planning also enables stronger and more frequent collaboration across global departments and users, helping ensure accountability and allowing marketing intelligence/programs to be integrated into demand planning.
The tighter links between previously disparate planning functions allow synchronized plan execution throughout an integrated global supply chain, enabling Rosemount to improve service levels through better inventory management and improved material availability.
Demantra Real-Time Sales and Operation Planning has also enabled Rosemount to improve asset management, resulting in increased capacity utilization, more accurate forecasts and increased sales by providing customers with faster and more reliable deliveries.
Oracle’s Real-Time Sales and Operations Planning solution also benefits Rosemount’s suppliers, enabling them to reduce costs through streamlined interactions with a global buying and planning function.
Oracle’s Real-Time Sales and Operations Planning solution is part of Oracle’s Value Chain Planning suite of applications that enable companies to improve demand sensing and shaping for revenue growth, become more agile and quickly react to supply chain events, and profitably align supply and demand to achieve corporate goals.
