Oracle today announced results of a global survey of 168 executives in the communications, IT and media industries, revealing the challenges and opportunities they face as these three industries converge.
The research, conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit and sponsored by Oracle, is titled “Converging on the Customer: New Media for Closer Relationships.”
The survey reveals that mobile applications strategies are critical with nearly all (92 percent) respondents saying they either have developed or are investigating a mobile application strategy. Only five percent see no value in developing mobile applications.

“As the communications, media and IT industries converge, companies in these industries must overcome challenges related to new business models, including the introduction of mobile applications. If they can surpass these hurdles, the rewards are immense – loyal, well-served and profitable customers,” said Arturo Pereyra, director, marketing and business development, Oracle Communications.
