Oracle® Fusion Middleware Delivers World Record Single-Node Result with SPECjAppServer2004 Benchmark

Oracle® WebLogic Server on Dell PowerEdge R910 Server Delivers Winning Result

Redwood Shores, Calif. – March 30, 2010
News Facts

Today, Oracle announced that Oracle® WebLogic Server, a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, together with Oracle Database 11g running on Oracle Enterprise Linux and a Dell PowerEdge R910 Server achieved a world record single-node result with the SPECjAppServer2004 industry standard benchmark(1).
With this achievement, Oracle WebLogic Server now holds world record results in multi-node(2), dual-node(3), and single-node SPECjAppServer2004 benchmarks, in addition to delivering the highest performance per core(4) of any result ever published.
Benchmark Details

Oracle WebLogic Server with Oracle Database 11g achieved 11,057.07 SPECjAppServer2004 JOPS@Standard (jAppServer Operations Per Second). The Java Application Server was running on a four-socket Dell PowerEdge R910 server with the new Intel® Xeon® X7560 2.26 GHz processor. Oracle Database 11g was running on an identical hardware configuration. Both the application server and database server were running Oracle Enterprise Linux.
SPECjAppServer2004 is a multi-tier benchmark for measuring the performance of a representative J2EE application and each of the components that make up the application environment, including hardware, application server software, JVM software, database software, JDBC drivers and the system network. The specifications for the SPECjAppSever2004 benchmark standards were last modified in February 2007. For more information, visit http://www.spec.org/jAppServer2004/.
